Thank you for the kind comments everyone. But it's confession time...
I wasn't entirely happy with the result for 2 reasons. I used Tamiya Gloss from a rattle can and ended up using quite a few coats to get a decent finish. As a result, the surface detail ended up being a little 'swamped' with paint which 'softened' the detail. Secondly, and a major faux pas on my part, I got the angle of the stripes wrong. I masked everything up in the modelling shed without directly comraing with period photos. A serious schoolboy error. So, I made the decision to strip the paint and go back to bare styrene and start again. Frustrating as I was happy with how the stripes came out, but I know that if I had left things as tehy were, it would have bugged the heck out of me.
This time round, I've used gloss white through an AB and am waiting for that to harden before masking. Will get some more photos up over the coming weekend.
Annoying, but I really want this to come out well as it is a striking scheme so deserves to be dome properly.
