Wingnut Wings LVG C.VI
« on: February 12, 2018, 10:18:20 AM »
Hello everyone!  This is my first completed WNW build, and first project posted at this forum!

I dedicate this build to Des Dellatore.  His tutorials were invaluable in completing the project.  Everything I know about rigging I learned from him, and this plane would not have been successfully rigged without his guidance.  RIP, Des.

First WNW Build Jim, show us more soon! Very nicely done; clean crisp detail and some really nice shading effect. I haven't built this one yet but it's slowly working it's way to the front of the line, This will be a great example to follow! How did you shade the fuselage panel lines, "Pre or Post"??
Cheers,
Lance

Hi Lance and thanks for the compliments.

I did both!  The fuselage was painted black entirely and then a base coat of white was applied, on top of which I added oil paints to get the wood tone.  After that dried, I added some post shading with a mix of clear brown (made from Tamiya clear red, yellow, and blue) and Tamiya smoke, heavily thinned and sprayed on panel lines, etc.

I'll look forward to seeing your LVG when you get around to the build!

I am close to finished on my second WNW project now: the Pfalz D.III.  I'll post those photos as well when I'm done.

Cheers,
Jim

What a beauty! Lovely wood, and all the rest, too. I wish mine looks like this when it is finally done.

My alltime favorite of (maybe?) all Wingnut models.
I love this bird.

Well done, Jim.
