Hi!
Time to go on.
I went on working on the tail.
I sprayed the white, red and blue.
Then I tried kit decals...

Well, you see the result. they are very brittle. I retouched the serial, and in real life looks better than in picture.
I have to do some shading to make the internal structure more visible and when the model will be finsihed I'll work with oils and pigments.

On the real plane the paint was weel worn out, so to replicate this I applied some maskol on the leading edge to simulate the discoloration.

It needs some more work but as base it's ok for me .
On to the wings.
The ailerons are moulded with the wings, so I cut them and build the hinges from plasticard.
Next I'll add some brass pin to locate the parts.

I decided to add some resins to improve the kit.
First the seat from Barracuda. The plastic lump form the kit it's orrible

the resin piece it' s superb, once painted the detail will pop out.
I think I'll use the cushion from the kit. I've smoothed it and added some buttons.

The second resin "bit" it's the Taurus engine

The kit engine can be improved but has some basic flaws (cylinders shape), but I decided that I wanted something better and the Taurus engine it's amazing (details pictures in next posts!)

And here I want to thanks Lukasz of Taurus.
It delayed the shipping 3 or 4 days (a problem with paypal), so it added some resin spark plugs as a bonus for the wait!
Great service thanks!

Finally I bought a Camel Usas kit from WnW and discovered that the wheels not used in that kit are perfect form my DH.2!
Not a night and day difference, but the WnW have a sharper detail and writings on the sidewall.

That's all.
Andrew
