That motor looks great.  I love the exposed motors of WWI.  Just a great detail-heavy feature that doesn't have to be covered up.

Gaz

Thanks Gaz. I hate to say this but the engine covers will be in place on the DV...I really like the lines with everything buttoned up  8)
Here is the latest:
Aviattic Lozenge applied to the tail surfaces which will eventually be overpainted in red. The two Albatri together and the engine glued in place in the DV.

My sentence probably wasn't very clear upon rereading.  What I meant was I like that on almost all WWI aircraft you have some portion of the engine sticking out.  It's just very interesting.

A very nice couple Rick! It is interesting to see both fuselages next to each other. I never really got why they called the D V a “lighter” version of the D III. But now it’s quite obvious. Although the D V weighted quite the same like the D III, the D V actually looks much sleeker.
Best regards

Thanks Andreas I greatly appreciate the comment. Yes the DV is certainly sleeker/ more refined. I Love the lines of both!

Looking sharp -interesting, the deep red looks very much like the "purperrot" I mixed my brighter red with on my D.VII :)

Really pretty, Rick! This shading through effect of the overpainted Tarnstoff looks awesome!
