Just so all of my builds are out of the closet. This one has been a Dual build All along. I am also working on a WNW Albatros DV to be done in Jasta 11 Markings. I will change the title of the build soon.

Here is a small update on the DIII. I have begun painting the band on the fuselage. When complete I will mask it off and do the wood finish on the rest of the fuselage. I also attached the elevator.

That does not look like you used oil paints for the wood grain, Rick, right? Any innovative method? Looks pretty good.

I am pleased that you are continuing with these Rick. Both are looking very good - the Roden is ceetainly aking very good progress. How do you intend to paint the wood for the fuselage? Are you going to use oils?

Actually the Answer is yes...and no. Acrylic oils by Windsor Newton with a "Rust" Filter by Testors brushed over. I also used Tamiya clear orange over the stringers and cross x bracing.
