Thanks chaps!

I've got the Fuse together and test fitting the wings and struts and I'm astounded by the fit! All clicks together without the merest hint of a gap... I'm sure someone will tell me it's the wrong dimensions here and there but looks good!

Amazing

Guy

Hi Guy, looking good, have fun with this journey down memory lane and don't mind if someone points out some inaccuracy with the kit.  Looks darn good as you progress, press on.    ;D

Thanks juan,

Yes, probably best I don't know  ::) although I have been told the ailerons are wrong (I can live with that) and the struts don't align - but they do seem to on my kit? Unless I'm missing something.

But yes, meant to be a fun, fairly quick build rather than a year long pursuit of perfection!

It actually looks good! This is a very nice interior. Great to hear about the fitting of this grandfather kit.

Thanks Borsos  ;)

Finally got the first round of painting done. Can anyone guess the Jasta?  :D

I haven't tried the Fokker streaking before. Any top tips welcome. I've kicked off with a light khaki-olive. This was using the MRP paints from the Camel build - PC10 lightened with Linen. I can't praise these paints enough - beautiful to spray! The underside blue was back to Tamiya and noticeably not as nice!

The initial plan will be to use artist's oils to do the streaking - maybe in 2 colours in 2 separate sittings? A lighter and darker shade of Olive? Is there any brown in it? There seems to be looking at streaking decals?

I haven't decided on the final aircraft, just the Jasta. The markings will have to be masked & sprayed so it won't be one of the super fancy schemes.

Any input welcome.

Guy

Ps I have a pic to post but have been hijacked by Photobucket - it was useless anyway. But pi**ed off every thread I've done is now been ransomed... shocking.

Outstanding prep work and construction! As for the streaking try looking at the Hints and Tips section under Fokker Streaking show us your Method. Several good Ideas there in addition to mine.

Yes Richard,

The kit was £12 and about a fiver for the PE guns so under £20!

Thanks Rick, didn't think to look there! Unfortunately, too late. I went ahead anyway, and quite pleased with the results (ish).

I'll post some pics later...

That streaking is very nicely done, Guy.

    Got to be Jasta 19?
You are certainly doing wonders with this old Kit.

I'm waiting on a replacement gear strut for mine, but the wings all aligned no problem! Kit was bought new in 2007.

I love your streaking and Jasta choice Guy, it looks fantastic!
