Now I like to present here a model, which I think it is my "masterpiece". At least it takes the biggest effort of my models up to now. It is a:
Airco D.H.2 as stripdown in 1/48
The kit was produced by
Eduard in 2014. Additionally I used a
Small Stuff Gnome Monosoupape 9B-2, which is able to rotate here, a huge number of Gaspatch turnbuckles of different types (may be the model with the highest number used), some PE of
Parts, a lot of additional brass profiles and wood for struts and airscrew. Since the kit do not contain decals, I used a set from a Weekend Edition.
The paints are
Gunze,
Alclad and oils.
The main parts are soldered to get a model as robust as possible. The biggest effort was the rigging and control wires, there are 119 wires in. A normal D.H.2 model takes a huge amount of wires, but here I have also added the internal wires. I'm very satisfied with the different kind of rigging, only for the terminals of the RAF wires (from
Parts here) I have found in meantime a better solution.
May be you have seen this model already, if you have visited the Eduard product page of this kit. Eduard use it a completed example

There is a detailed build report available, but in german. If you like I can add some small interesting impressions.
I hope the pictures are not to big (300kb, 1280with), if so please tell me and I will replace them by smaller ones.
Enjoy the pictures!
Frank
