Nice to see you working on this one, Guy. The cockpit is excellently done and so is the paint. Great model in the making.

So all glossed up and decals in place, have you ever seen such a shiny Sopwith?

I must admit I've had more than my fair share of mini disasters on this build - ranging from glue blobs to fingerprints to solvent cleaner splashes to decal mishaps - none of it anything to do with the kit though, which is an absolute gem.

One day I'll get through a kit error free...

Looking very good. A Ship's Camel is on my want list for a future project and it is very instructive to see this build.

It's ok now, you can take your sunglasses off  8)

Overspray filter of 'Streaking Grime', some oil lowlights and painted highlights and sealed in with Alclad Light sheen...









Not sure what's next, maybe the rigging points...

Apologies for the late reply, yes, laquer based - beautiful, smooth, soft sheen!


Not much done, I've been away and had more 'issues'. The control horns that aren't one piece i.e. one for the top and one for the bottom I find very tricky, as the tension on the rigging inevitably seems to pull them out of place - so after much fafffing (English term for messing about...) I have finally rigged the tail section - I also had to scratch the couple of  forward fuselage control horns as I messed up the kit pieces trying to drill through the teeny plastic. For such a simple model I seem to be making it hard going!

But looks ok in the end...
