Albatros D Production
« on: April 13, 2017, 05:05:20 AM »
This was posted on another forum, and it is simply incredible. I had NEVER seen any World War I aircraft being produced before this and my jaw dropped when I saw this. Hope y'all like it.

I believe I've seen some of the latter footage here before but the first 5 minutes was new to me, fascinating! Thanks for posting it.

Terrific find, James. Thanks for posting.

Especially noteworthy for me is the high gloss sheen on the fuselages as they are manoeuvred out for wing mounting. Presumably newly applied varnish over several coats.
I would never have dared to finish a factory fresh model as shiny as that! Emphasises how much real-life weathering affected these kites.

Great find, I'd never seen it, very interesting how the wings were first rigged on their sides and away from the fuselage and the the top was fitted first.

I loved the part that showed them rigging the wings. Definitely not as fiddly as using Bobs Buckles.  :) :)

 ;D ;D

Did you also notice the man painting the wings? I was very disappointed with his lack of weathering knowledge...  ;D

Cheers,
Bob
