Most of the interior frame work done. Seat assembled using Eduard s/belts. They took about 15minutes each to make as feeding the straps through the buckles was a tad fiddly.
Engine now fitted and M/Gs to go on next

Beautiful work so far on this plane Toby, was all the inner structures in metal?
I do not have this model in my stash (...yet) and do not know much about it... I'm curious.

The kit itself is all plastic and it's quite a soft plastic compared to other manufacturers. The plane itself is all metal. The inside is corrugated but in the  model it's flat.

That's very nice work but I'm going to leave it as it. Thanks for the link though. :)

Toby, outstanding start to this model.  Looking forward to your next post.

Red Baron, thank you for showing your technique, will have to file it away for future use.

This is looking really good - a fine model to follow your Nieuport. The interior is very well done indeed. Looking forward to more.

Stephen.

Fuselage now closed up and getting ready for painting. I'll be using Tamiya purple and I was going to use Misterkit German light green and did a test on the top of the RH fuselage but it seems a bit too light to me so will have to look elsewhere for something a bit darker. Any suggestions will be most welcome.

A bit of bad news is that the top of the rear fuselage was damaged somehow in the moulding stage and I have attempted a repair if sorts.

I will try and better this but hopefully I can "hide" it if the camou pattern changes colour over where it is.

Spraying has started. Vallejo RLM65 for the lower surface and Tamiya X16 for the top. Still undecided on what green to use though for the camouflage.

I've now masked up the camou with white non-stick plasticine, sealed it with a couple of coats of matt gloss to prevent seepage and put the top coats of RLM 82 on.
Trying to get the pattern correct for me is nigh on impossible as my brain keeps flip-flopping between the two colours and misleads my eye. Does anyone else suffer from this? I've tried to get it as close as possible though. Only when I remove everything will I see if it's been a success or a complete disaster.

Fingers are crossed that the camo turns out well for you . Not an easy surface to mask for a sharp edge .

Well it's gone a lot better than I expected tbh. Putting a coat of varnish on before the top coat helped to give a clear outline to the camou.
Actually I know it's not an exact copy but I'm a little bit chuffed. :D
The exhaust is just placed there to make sure I didn't need to do anything else to it before painting. I think I shall now go to the pub :o

I have decided to print my own decals(a first for me) just in case the ones supplied are as bad as people say they are.
