First Completed Projects in years.
« on: September 28, 2016, 01:48:46 PM »
 Hello All,
Here's this years crop of off topic projects completed. I hope you enjoy them and as always any and all comments are welcome and much appreciated.

The First project for 2016 after a too long absence. This is an ancient Artiplast kit of the Reggiane RE-2000 in 1/48ish scale.I began this project just to see if I could build it at all. The original plan was to build her straight out of the box and nothing else. That didn't work out well though.Come to think of it I haven't build straight out of the box since I was a boy.

The second completed project is an ID Models vacuform kit of a Macchi 202 in 1/32 scale. This project began in 2009 as part of a Vacuform GB on another forum.

Thank you for having a look at this years off topic projects.
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

PS: Feels so good to be back in the saddle again.

A delight to both of these Gregory.

The subtle camouflage effect on the RE-2000 is very difficult to do & looks perfect on your build.

Equally well done with the vac-form.  Frankly so many finished vac-form kits always look like… well… vac-forms but there’s not a hint of that on yours which looks as if it’s ready for take-off! The 202 is a lovely shape.

More import than building two great models - you’ve proved something to yourself & a vast ‘well done’ for that.

Regards
Russell

Bravo, Gregory, the old skills are still there!

I particularly like the finish you have achieved on the vac-form Macchi 202, but they are both models to be proud about.

Best wishes
Nigel

Both models are superb! I think it must be a tough job to paint the Italian camouflage.
Well done Gregory!

 Edo,
Great to hear from you my old friend. I very much appreciate your kindly comments. I have a real thing for Italian aircraft so choosing two Italian project just seemed to be the natural thing to do. I glad you like the RE-2000 and her camouflage.Funny thing though the camouflage outcome was a happy accident. I fouled up the original three tone camouflage in my opinion so I covered it with diluted yellow #3 as was done to the real thing to tone down the finish.
