Just catching up with this - once again, the work of a craftsman on display here!

As others have written the quality of your work never ceases to amaze and impress. This engine is going to be worth displaying as a model on its own.

Stephen.

Thanks for your continuously kind comments, very much appreciated. Especially on miserable days as today. I have just finished repairing one of two blunders. Will you believe that I had to shave down those lovely spark plugs? Yes, I had to. I still cannot understand how I managed to drill those 24 holes, and install the plugs mistaking left with right cylinder bank! Irreversibly - the upper water lines cannot be attached if the banks are swapped. The entire modeling evening was the time cost of it. This was purely mine and I am extremely grateful to Łukasz for sending me two spare plug sets, just enough for recovery. How did he know that I would need them???
And the second blunder is on WNW side. Again, I cannot understand how they managed to misplace the positions of rear carbs vs the cam shaft drives. The carbs should be more to the rear than those V shaped drives . This in turn requires the rear intake manifolds to be longer than the front ones. They have done it correctly on Eagles in Felixstowe kits but here on Falcon they have erronously made the rear and the front ones of equal length. I have added pieces of plastic rods to lengthen them. But the glue has to set before sanding polishing and repainting them can be done.
Evidently, a day of steps back... I even do not feel like taking photos...

Oh, I feel your pain! I have been there quite a few times, & you know you will recover (although there is a dark cloud overhead for now). :-\

Miserable day? Steps back?
With respect Prze, I do not agree!
1. From the spark plug issue you learnt something. Although it is something you believed you already knew,
your knowledge has been reinforced. I have found that learning is invariably a positive outcome.
2. WNW set you a challenge that you identified and rectified. Consequently, your model will be all the better for your additional work. This is also a positive outcome.
You know your present sense of disapointment will mellow significantly with the dawn of a new day. Remember your Felixstowe nose paint issue? That turned out stuningly!
You have made no steps backward, only progress.  :D
So how about a few photos please. You know you really want to  ;)

Thank you, everybody, for your soothing words. Boggie, sure the feeling on photos was temporary, I did not mean that forever  ;) Only till the damage is repaired. So, now it is. The engine now stands as I meant it should have stood yesterday.

As you see the rear intake manifolds are lengthened, the rear carbs hang just BEHIND the cam shaft controls as they should. The cylinder blocks are not swapped and have the spark plugs located correctly, in a zig-zag pattern when viewed from the top with the frontmost ones more off to the sides.
And here the engine as it stands for the moment, tentatively put on the bearers together with the radiator. Th rear carbs have enough space in front of the firewall.

When the glue between the intake cylinders, intake manifolds and carbs sets the time will come for the electric wires to arrange them finally.

And in the meantime I completed the cockpit area by adding the observer's gun and the compass in the upper wing centrepiece.

+1 Prze, that last photo of the details in and around the "pits" is incredible, what truly masterful work!

Wow outstanding.  Looks like you are going to need a small mechanic to hook up all those sparkplug wires.  Make sure they are connected in the right firing sequence (LOL) or the engine wont start.   ;D

Have not followed that thread before, which obviously was my personal loss, but not enymore!
What was depicted by Przemek is kind of sheer modelling experience. I would not treat this like "one step back" as it is always progress by checking/comparing/looking for answers and finding the solution.
The outcome will be splendid.

Outstanding work on the engine and cockpit not to mention the rest. It's a nice feeling just to look at this build. Well done.

Thank you!

I have installed the water pipes, sorted out those 24 electric wires, trimmed them, attached to the spark plugs and cam shafts, added four rings holding them on the central pipes of all four intake manifolds and retouched the lost paint. I expected the worst but the soldering wire is very easy to handle, soft and not springing back. Highly recommended!

Beautiful engine. I can't wait to see you making it even more alive with some oily remains etc.

Excellent model. I hope one day my LVA version will be just as nice.

Ivo
