Eduard's Tripe//1:48
« on: August 29, 2016, 07:34:44 PM »
Hello,
So many great threads on Des forum, so I would not pay too much attention to the background issues. Tripehound or Tripe, initially powered by Clerget 9Z nine-cylinder rotary engine, became operational in early 1917.
For thread reason I have taken old Eduard no. equipped with PE part , which seems to be quite decent base for the built.
The interior was enhanced with self-made parts to resemble more likely the original.
Some pics from the assembly

regards
K

Lovely work, K. The Tripehound is one of my favourite aircraft and I look forward to following a build in such capable hands.

Best wishes
Nigel

Excellent work on the interior, K!  The instrument panel, in particular, is quite realistic.  Looking forward to following along.  Have you chosen a scheme yet?
Cheers,
Bud

Great start K, The triplane is one of my favourites, and you are right, the old Eduard kit is a decent base for a good looking Tripe.
Cheers,
Tony.

Of to a nice start so far . When fitting the outer struts you have to file the hole in the wings to match the angle (stagger ) of the strut , test often . Other then that , she builds up nicely .

Very nice start K. and one of my favourite aircraft. I have a second (1:32 Scale) one in the Stash in fact and like Bud wonder what scheme you have in mind for this one? BTW, the Smallstuff spark plugs are a very nice touch!
Cheers,
Lance

Nice!  I've always wanted to see N5486 built!  Love the skis.
