Fantastic woodwork. But it just matches the great detailing inside the fuselage. The masterpiece in the making.

This would be outstanding in 1:32, in 1:72 it's simply astonishing!

I'm a bit late to respond, wow, thanks so much!! Once again, I have learned so much from those of you who post here. I still continually go through many older posts to see how certain tasks are handled, especially in 1/72.

No photo update, but I have since sprayed quite a few coats of clear on the fuselage in preparation for decals. Masking was removed, & I only had a minor bit of water color that seeped under the masking on the nose. Easy cleanup, though.

More clear was also added to the top wing for decal prep. I glued the PE piece for the aileron control horn to a small piece of foil to represent the base of the cover. I was curious if I should glue it to the wing, then apply the decal (with a small slit cut into it)? Or, should I glue the control arm on after the decal has been applied?

Thanks again,
Steve

Really?? I'd never even noticed that little plate before! Personally, I'd put the decal on first and then paint the control horn cover to match...

Thanks, Ian, I appreciate the input! I painted them shortly after I made them.

As it stands today. Much more to do.

Every time I visit this thread I am stunned by the standard of modelling.

I stuck those control horns on an Albatros I made a while ago but the crazy thing is it was in 1/48 and they are less detailed than your 1/72 ones.
Amazing.
