The latest on the DR1. I have added the wood formers to the fuselage sides and painted them appropriately. I used oils, both Acryl and the normal type. The base was Acryl Yellow Ochre with Acryl Burnt Sienna and regular oils burnt umber. I also added lcing to the rear bulkhead where I felt it would be seen with the seat installed.

Again great progress, the wood still strikes me. Are you happy with the Roden kit until now? That the WNW Se5a is a great kit, everybody knows I think...
Best wishes

Thanks again for your comments. As for the Encore/Roden Triplane it builds up nicely. This is my third:

Rick,
I'm looking forward to following this latest project, and yesterday I pulled my Encore Kit off the shelf after reviewing this Thread just to have a quick peek at the beast. Question; how does that resin Oberursel fit the cowling? I've done the Roden DR.1 using the Kit engine which went in well with a few touch ups but wonder if the Encore resin part aren't a little large?
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks Lance. As for the resin engine I have done some basic work and will take photos later. Encore/Squadron tells you to trim the ends to fit. I have assembled the resin parts and it fits easily in the resin cowling, OK in the Roden cowling and VERY easily in the Ron/Aviattic version.
Still not decided if I am going to use the resin or kit part. My assembly is just ever so slightly crooked...I think  ::)

Just dropped in for a peek and am glad that I did. This is really coming on well - the wood effect is very realistic.

Here are the photos of the resin motor and all 3 cowlings:

Encore on the left, Roden in the center, and Rons on the right.

Thanks for the feedback, Rick. I forgot I also have the Aviattic cowling so it looks like I've got 3 options that would ultimately work........good news!
