Looking terrific, Rick.
Some of these Encore kits seem to have resin parts that are basically exact copies of the original plastic.  Curious.

Thanks Drew! The resin parts are very close to the originals in some cases. The engine has a different bolt pattern than the Roden engine? Also the top decking is corrected for the fuel and oil filler caps and the fairing over the instrument.

This should be about the last photos before joining the fuselage halves. Just a tad of touch up left.

The ammo cans have been added. The rear most is the Part PE bin, the other that will not be seen is from the kit. Using just one of the Part pieces leaves one for my next DR1 build. I have also done the basic control rigging. I also moved the Magneto back a bit from its original placement as it was too close to where the crossmember with the instrument will be located.

Love the ammo bins, Amigo!  They add greater realism to your already fantastic interior!

Just a suggestion Rick: why do you not leave the fuselage open as a display piece? It is certainly good enough to stand on its own as a model.

Lovely work Rick and accomplished in a short time too. It's such a shame when it all has to be hidden for the best part - bit like a nice balsa air frame before the tissue goes on  ::) but at least we 'know its there'  :D

Rick,
You've done a terrific job on the cockpit, I just looked at mine and wish it was half as good! Given the forward stagger of the wings and the large cockpit opening the interior details are more visible then it would initially appear, your efforts are not going to be completely hidden for sure. I'm looking forward to future updates, and the "SE" as well, keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Lance

Hi Rick - I'll be paying even more attention to your build from here on - I've just bought the Roden version from Poland for just under £30 ;) - well chuffed.  Looking forwards to seeing a lot more of your build beforehand though  ;)

Thank you ALL very much for your very generous comments! As always I find them very inspiring. I have now joined the DR1 fuselage together and done some filling and sanding. I am considering doing something rash! I started playing with the resin parts for the Voss F1 version. I removed all of the parts from the pour blocks and am tempted to turn this into a TRI build  :o MvRs all red bird, Rhys Davids SE5a, and yes, the Voss F1 103/17.

It is official now. I couldn't resist the urge to do the Voss bird as well as a Duelist with the SE5a.  ::)
