WOW! You have nailed the finish and weathering on your Eindecker! The turned meatal cowling is superb as is the staining on wings and fuselage.

She's a real looker, Bob!  Very well done!  What a great introduction.  Welcome to the forum.

A superb looking Fokker E.III Bob, the finish on this model is excellent and you have done a great job with the rigging.

Oh yeah! Thanks for posting the photos. I love Eindeckers and and yours is a treat. I especially like the treatment you gave the fabric surfaces. They appear very realistic and as an Eindecker's should. I assume you used EZ Line as rigging materials and did away with turnbuckles. I think I will be taking that approach on my next Eindecker too.

Great build!

Beautiful work Bob! Great work on the finish, the shading is superb and the rigging really "clean" and well done. Your "turned metal" is an outstanding bit of work; My compliments on a magnificent Build!
Cheers,
Lance

Excellent work on a great kit! The finish on the cowling and weathered fabric really turned out well.

I like the look of weathered fabric. Could you please elaborate a bit on your model - did you run into problems of some kind? Did you detail the kit further? Anything to be aware of during the build?

Your Fokker looks great. Painting and shading makes the model looks like a real.  :)

That is a real show stopper. The metallic finish is so realistic and the staining on the fabric surfaces is also excellent. What an introduction to this site!

Brilliant work. I love the machined finish effect done on the cowling.

Excellent Bob - both in detail & the overall effect.

As mentioned above your cowl in particular is superb.

First, thanks to all for the very kind words on my little Fokker!!! And thanks for all the welcomes to this site!!!
The build was pretty trouble free and completely OOB. Typical WNW quality, making a mediocre modeler like myself look like a pro!!! As is typical with WNW kits, they go together pretty nicely with the usual caveats. Make sure you clean the paint away from joined surfaces and make sure all the sprue gates and mold seams are perfectly cleaned up so you won't have any significant fit issues. The only real problem I encounter with WNW kits, is their devoted attention to scale thickness parts, and this makes some parts quite fragile. In the case of the Fokker, I did manage to snap off the horizontal elevators (I pretty much break something on every WNW kit!), but this was easily solved by careful pinning of the elevators to an appropriate sized brass rod. Most of the weathered look was achieved using various pastel sticks ground up in a coffee grinder and applied with a fan brush to simulate that streaky effect. I like using a coffee grinder as it gives random sizes to the pastel "dust" and this leads to some variations in the "streaks".

Awesome finish on your Fokker, I have a fondness for weathering which comes from armor modelling and your example is very fine indeed.
