Hi Bud.
Given its central location, I'm not surprised that the Holiday Inn is booked up, but I have to say that I find such hotels a bit soulless. Telford is very close to delightful villages, such as Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale on the River Severn. The area is beautifully green and wooded, yet regarded as the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, due in no small part to the work of the Darby family. In fact, the world's first iron bridge crosses the Severn at Ironbridge. In its idyllic setting the bridge, which was constructed almost as a piece of carpentry, is most evocative.
As a tourist area there are small bed and breakfast establishments and great pubs to eat in. Ena and I stayed in a b&b last year for the Telford show and thoroughly enjoyed it. The drive into Telford was short and hassle free. We're doing the same this year.
It's only a thought, but it might be worth considering.
We can only get to Telford for one day this year, but it would be great to meet up.
Best wishes
Nigel
