Hello Stefan,
I always use Aluminium Foil tape like this: https://www.conrad.de/de/aluminium-klebeband-3m-silber-l-x-b-55-m-x-50-mm-acryl-inhalt-1-rolle-n-547262.html
You can also buy it sometimes at Aldi. Works superb and is Ultra thin. I also use it for Zylinders on Planes or on trucks.

I agree with the tin foil. Great for straps and clamps as well.

Hi Stefan

Like Manni - I have used the similar 'chromium' self adhesive tape available at some cycle shops. On my last jet build I used self adhesive vinyl sheet - it makes for very convincing oleos. Ebay was the source  ;)

Hope I'm not 'teaching granny to suck eggs' but if you need a circular mirror and don't have the means to cut a tiny disc accurately a piece of brass tube with the end sharpened to a fine edge will work well.

Or use Bare Metal Foil  ultra chrome.  Really looks good. One sheet would last years if you're only doing mirrors.

I use a Testors version called "Ultra Bright Krome Foil". It works well and also for clamps etc. as James pointed out.
Cheers,

I am currently foiling a B-29 over at Aeroscale.

On it I use both Bare Metal Foil and kitchen foil.  Although both provide a metal shine, if you want to pump it up, you can polish the foil with aluminum polish from a car parts store.  After using the polish you can have a truly reflective surface.
