Stefan, every aspect of this model is masterfully done, but your engine, prop and especially the exhaust are in a class of their own!  Stunning work all around, my friend!
Cheers,
Bud

Here we are at the moment:

Before i can work on the rigging, the toughest task of all waits for me: I have broken the fuel lines and have to fake those from solder.

Hm.

Your build is looking terrific! I feel your pain about those fuel lines. I don't think I mentioned it in my build log but I did the same...in many pieces. Actually stepped on the part. Mine came out a little rough but I am sure yours will be top notch!

Really looking good Stefan, you are doing some real world class work here. The black finish is a real challenge to replicate but you have aced it and more. I'll be watching your progress as you approach completion of this gem.
Cheers,
Lance

Great work Stefan - those fuel lines are best replicated using solder as you are going to do. I found perfect solder wire at the local fishing shop (used for fly-tying), I think the kit ones are a bit thick, actually. That's quite a contraption you have your model strapped into - is it home made?

Gary

Thank you, friends, for your encouragement. It's needed for that fule line replacement.

Gary, the jig is a commercially available one (actually the same that Borsos and James machin/Fareast use), the brand is "vertigo", cost is around 40€. You can find them on fb.

Actually a very nice Pfalz, great details and a very fine overall impression. I'm sure you will manage the replacement of the fuel lines. Better breaking them now then after finishing the whole model, isn't it?
Best wishes
Borsos

P. S. Yes, and I like this jig a lot. It makes especially rigging much easier.

Thanks Stefan! If I ever sign up for Facebook I'll be sure to check that out  8) Although my Fantastic Third Hand does the job for me at present.

Hertel's Pfalz is finished.

Am I happy with it? No, I ain't. I don't think i was able to do the Pfalz's slender lines justice.

I used WNW's lozenge - the plan was to done done those bright colours. I used an acrylic filter for it, but that settled too fast, which means the filtering effect is overdone. I had problems with the rigging due to me using an old tube of superglue. The majority of turnbuckles gave way when i tried to tighten the rigging, resulting in incorrect angles. Still a lot of things i have to improve on.

Better pictures to follow in the next days in the "Completed models" section.

I think the "perfect model" does not exist - at least not in the eyes of the builder. I like it too, it's a very nice build. If you still want to tone down the whitening effect of the filter, I'd spray carefully some heavily diluted (!) shots of tamiya or Gunzes "Smoke" over it. It wouldn't harm the radiator.
Best regards

It looks excellent and will be perfect once placed on its base.
