Black dagger. A WNW Pfalz D.IIIa
« on: June 10, 2016, 03:39:42 AM »
No, this won't be a vampire romance. Sorry  8) this will only be a report about my version of a black Pfalz with a dagger.

This one here, from Osprey's Pfalz Aces book:

This Pfalz sports cut down engine panels (forcing me to detail the engine), an anemometer and a rear view mirror. Wings are decorated with 5-colour-Lozenge. Uffz Hertel used that one at JaSta 40s.

Ernie did that one some time ago. I am pretty sure mine won't look the same  :-[

And as a report without any progress is no report at all, here is a picture of some progress:

The interior won't be detailed too much and you will learn in near future why that's the case.

Stay tuned for my vampire's dagger's next episode...

Stefan

Love that scheme!  Can't wait to see how you tackle it.

Oh, Man...I read it as "Black Adder" and was wondering what THIS was going to be!  ::)

Love the choice of a beautiful plane.  This will be fun to watch.

Black Adder. I loved that series (especially the WW1 episodes), although I didn't understand anything at all (remember, me being German thus missing the "humourous genes" and all that)  8)

Here you can see the reason why I can skip at least parts of any internal detailing:

Messier le pilote (who started his life as a Wings Cockpit figure for a LVG) takes away most of what might be visible inside. I added parts of the shoulder belts, because those will be visible afterwards. They will be blended (of course), after the glue has dried. The stick will be fitted into messier le pilote's right hand, and that might be the end of interior detailing. We'll see.

I have a cunning plan.
Stay tuned.

S.

Hi Stefan, (spelling??)

Since you have a "cunning plan", at least some of your humor genes are being transcribed  ;)  I really think it's neat to add pilots...especially for WWI subjects since they have such character and interesting painting challenges.

This will be a treat!

Kind regards,

Dan (only slightly funnier than a cat falling off a counter top)

The cunning plan is delayed. My assistant was not particularly helpful today.

She is laying on the Pfalz (apart from the top wing). Seems to be rather comfortable, despite the dagger.

If i only had an adder now to chase the assistant away.

Sorry.

The supervisor looks a little unimpressed, Stefan!  Probably daring
you to try and remove hairs for aeroplane rigging. ;D ;D
Neat picture, my friend. :D
