Great paint job and attention to detail Des.

To say it's looking good is definately an understatement, but

it is LOOKING REALLY GOOD!

More please.   :)

Des,

are you going to tone down (flatten?) the gloss a bit, or is going to stay so shiny?

The gloss coat was applied so I could add the decals, I will be giving the whole model a few coats of satin clear once the other propeller mount is fitted.

Thanks guys for stopping by and leaving your much appreciated comments.

When fitting the struts I cut off the resin pins and replace them with 0.5mm copper wire, I drill a 0.6mm hole into the end of the struts then CA the copper wire, the wire can then be cut and bent to shape, it is very easy to work with but makes a strong connection.

I finished the two propeller drive gearbox units and fitted them to the bottom wing, the main drive from the engine to the two gearbox units are also fitted. I was very surprised at how easy it was to fit these units, finding the correct length strut is crucial but having scale plans to compare each strut makes life very easy. Once the correct struts were found both units virtually fell together

Thanks Bud for your kind words. For a limited edition resin kit it is going together really well, I have had a few issues but only minor ones, the lack of instructions are my main concern.

And even more struts. I have fitted the struts from the propeller mounts to take the top wing, I made a small jig that fitted across the pins on each pair of struts just to make sure everything was aligned, and this isn't the end, there are still more struts to be fitted.

Wow what a splendid build Des! Everything looks so easy when you do it... Of only I had a talent like you do...
I think Edgar has made the right decission when he asked you to build this kit. It really makes me want to buy one too.
Best regards
Filip

very nice and fast progress,i think you are enjoying this 1/48 kit more than you thought you would.remember there are many many more kits of much more obscure subjects in 1/48.some require some tlc but to me all the more fun. i know you like the be2c roden has a very decent kit of the be2c which can be converted to other be2 models. you can get one for $20 to $25 us dollars. i think you would like many of the cheaper yet still very nice 1/48 kits
