It looks awesome! I received mine from Uschi and I am very impressed with how they look.

it actually looks very fine! I just asked, because Alex gives that oilfilter hint in his tutorials (http://www.uschivdr.com/tutorials/). Which decals exactly did you use? "fine veneer", "knotless", "fine veneer plywood" or "coarse"? It is really a wonderful finish.

I used 4 different types, but primarily WGSF-48 Rich.  The nearly white looking thingy peeking out from behind the stack is Aviattic's Light German CDL, which I used on the rudder.

Thanks for your interest, guys!
Cheers,
Bud

Thank you! To mix the different Decal types is a great idea. I'll follow:)

Oh, I definitely plan on it, Scott.  I'm prepping my Sierra Scale Albatros C.V at the moment and have an Eduard D.III lined up next.
For those of you still on the fence regarding the Uschi wood decals, just look at what James Machin has done with them.

Got the belly detailed today using Jamo's spectacular photos of TVAL's D.II as reference.
Before:

After:

Drainage holes and shell ejection ports drilled into belly with brass tubing glued into the holes.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud,
That is absolutely gorgeous paintwork! Love the color of blue and the USCHI decals look great! Excellent work on the detail additions.

Thanks, Chris!  I look forward to seeing that D.Va, but please don't rush that beautiful Biff just to get to it.  She's gonna be a real gem.

Muchas gracias, Amigo!  I think I failed to mention earlier that when I went to spray the underside with Misterkit Albatros Blue, I thinned it with lacquer thinner because I thought (erroneously) that I had read somewhere in this forum that they were compatible.  Wrong.  Turned into a gooey, globby mess.  So, I searched frantically through the store of paints that I had on hand and found a very old bottle of Model Master RLM78 Hellblau.  It was still usable after lots of thinning and stirring, so I went with that.  I like it better than the MrK blue.
Cheers,
Bud

Nice "save" Amigo, just shows that old saying of ..." don't give up the ship"  applies in lots of ways.

Thanks, Amigo!  Really glad I still had some of my old stock laying around from my WWII days.
Cheers,
Bud

Danke, Borsos!  This is an easy, thoroughly enjoyable build, even though it lacks the details of a Roden or WNW Albatros.  Even with adding those details, it goes together quickly.  As Ernie and Scott have said, I'll have to do more of these.
Cheers,
Bud
