The D.I build by Borsos has inspired me to get out my Gavia D.I and get it started.  In spite of all the models I've built, I've yet to build a German Albatros fighter.  With this project, I intend to redress this gross discrepancy.  Since my Strutter is fairly small compared to recent builds, I've got enough room on the bench to accommodate both. And the Albatros is a relatively easy build, so it shouldn't interfere too much with the Strutter.
I'm using the Gavia kit with the Karaya conversion intended for the Eduard D.II.  The Karaya struts are much nicer than the ones in the Gavia kit.

Cheers,
Bud

Great choice, Bud! I'll follow that closely. Isn't there another exhaust pipe in the Karaya kit? The one in the Eduard/Gavia kit just fits the different cabane struts of the D II. The Hohne bird is a wonderful airplane.  :)
best wishes

Nice choice of subject. But it was JaSta 2 at that time - the honoric title was awarded only ofter Oswald B. had been killed. Not that it matters that much.

Well this is a double treat, Bud.  Besides the delightful Strutter,
we now have the Alby build to enjoy!  Always a joy to follow
your builds, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Most excellent. I keep itching to try this one and now with 2 builds on the go I'll have tons of referances. :)

Thank you so much for your support and warm encouragement, my friends.  It means a lot to me.
First thing I noticed upon opening the kit (years ago, along with my other Eduard Albatros kits) was that the forward bulkhead/firewall is solid.  Should be open framework.  Fixed that first off.

Then I did a base coat of Modern Desert Sand in preparation for the Uschi decals I intend to use.

That was yesterday.  Today I applied the decals to the interior bits.

Still working on it, going back and forth between this and the Strutter.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks, Ed!  These Eduard Albatros kits are really pretty much slam dunk and I'm building this one kinda s.o.b.  Kinda.  ;)
Yeah, Amigo.  Get with the program, will ya?  I'm Jonesin' to see some Ed Boll magic.
Cheers,
Bud

Family business still underway, plus the 3 others era kits that are waiting on the bench so it will be a while before something to post here.
