Many thanks for following the build and leaving such nice comments, Borsos, Juan, Stephen, Steve and Rick! They are highly appreciated.

Not much progress today, I just painted a few details on the fuselage (cockpit coaming, the slash on the vertical fin and green dots in the letter D and number 8 - they are not perfect, but to the bare eye they look sort of ok) and started working on the base. I am not very happy about the base, so I will probably rework it next weekend.

Cheers

And here the base.

P.S.: As I have run out of patience with photobucket, could you please recommend me another site to post my pics from?

Fantastic Ondra, so many details in such a small space...

I love it!

Ondra, I use Flickr. It takes a little getting used to, but once you have it worked out it's really quick and easy.

I have been following your updates on Facebook, but neglected to comment here recently. This is really outstanding work! The markings must be so tiny!

Steve

Same here Ondra. I continue to be impressed. Masking such tiny markings is incredible!

Likewise, Ondra.  Truly remarkable!

Many thanks for following the build and for your generous comments, Andonio, Gregory, Ian, Bud and Manni!

Today I continued with painting, the roundels on the wings are made by masking, on the fuselage I had to make them out of circles of decal - therefore the white outline on the roundel is a bit thicker than it should be (I only have 3 mm and 2,5 mm diameters in my punch 'n die tool...). Nevermind, I can live with it.

This gets more remarkable every time I look in. Who would see that the fuselage roundel is too large? Great work.

PS I too can recommend Flickr as I too got wholly fed up with Photobucket. I have written some notes for Flickr to remind me of how it works and it is quick and easy.

Stephen.

Many thanks for your support, Terri, Rick and Stephen!

As the roundels were too shiny compared to the rest of the model, so I decided to tone them down a bit. So I did a bit of masking (does not look very straight on the photo, which I discovered as well and corected it afterwards...) :

And then I gave it a light coat of heavily diluted PC 10 (basically just dirty thinner).

The effect is not very visible on the photos (just on the white field), but that is actually correct, from my POV. The effect should not be too strong to be clearly visible.

Cheers
