Oh,man! This looks so good to me! You must be huge, when I see your fingers, compared to this 1:72nd model. ;D

Many thanks for looking in and leaving such nice comments, Terri, Warren, Rick and Manni!

I am past several rounds of filling and sanding on the fuselage, almost done and ready for a fit test. It looks quite acceptable so far.

I made the Vickers gun (or rather the visible part of it, to be fair...), unfortunately it is very tiny, so I did not manage to make better photos than these.

Sergey was very kind and gave me a sample of a Drooling Bulldog product under preparation - wood stain (hope this is the correct expression). There are two different stains - ochre for light wood and umber for dark wood. Here the ochre:

I made a test on a white styrene sheet:

And then sprayed a coat on the propeller. It makes a nice glossy finish and gives the wood a beautiful warm tone. I am really impressed, I have to say.

Cheers

Ondra

Incomprehensible that this is 1/144 scale!  It looks to be 1/48 scale at least!  Truly marvelous work.  I love the effect of the wood stain.
Cheers,
Bud

I too continue to suffer from jaw ache as it hits the floor at the thought that this is 1/144 scale. Just wonderful what can be done with skill and patience. I would just not be able to see the parts well enough to cope with this scale - all the more kudos to you for doing so.

Stephen.

Many thanks for looking in and leaving such encouraging comments, Gregory, Rick, Bud, Des, Stephen and Steve!

I did not have much time for the workbench this weekend, so there is only very little progress.

I made the cockpit coaming and started scribing the fuselage using elastic tape. Here I pay the price for filling the fuselage with Surfacer 500 at some spots and with CA at other ones - the scribing is really difficult. But hopefully it will help me keep the geometry if done properly.

I made the first attempt on the Lewis MG, will see what it will look like with primer on, but probably I will have to rework it, as the drum seems to be sitting to far aft and the symetry is not what I was hoping for either.

Cheers

Ondra

That Lewis is both fantastic, and tiny!
Makes my 1/72 flare guns look both clumsy, and huge!

Just unbelievable! I even can't imagine to do such small guns. Great (or better tiny)

OK Ondra, I was super impressed up to this point but that tiny Lewis Gun has completely blown my mind! You are truly doing magic here, a master of sub miniature art..................what are you going to use for turnbuckles when you rig this beauty??? :o ;)
Cheers,
