Just the one photo to show you where I am up to. The other side of the engine needs plugs and leads and some plumbing. I will be adding the throttle linkages to the top of the carburettor plus a bit more plumbing, the water pumps still need to be fixed to the rear of the crank case. It is nearly starting to look like a Mercedes D.I engine, the conversion has been quite involved.

As always, when I see wiring like this, I get soooo envious!

Just a very small update, I have added the throttle linkages and a pipe from the carby, also the water pump and rear engine plate, I also completed the ignition leads on the exhaust side of the engine, I'm waiting on some small plastic tube so I can fitt the water pipes.

Bloody hells bells Des, that is simply amazing stuff.

You should seriously think about commercialising this somehow - perhaps building some sort of a kit for others to buy?

Wow, Des!  You've done a phenomenal job copying the Taurus engine.  In fact, yours looks even better!
Cheers,

I added the two small Mercedes badges to either side of the engine, they are fitted in the front engine mounts. These are made from 0.18mm copper wire, the outer circle is 2.0mm in diameter and the star is made from short lengths of the same size wire, it is all held together with very tiny drops of CA, I painted them with Humbrol 27002 polished aluminium.

I have made and added the engine bearers, also the bracing supports. This is a trial fit of the engine to see if it fits, it does  :)

I have started to add the fuselage covering by starting with the cockpit areas. I am using 10 thou Evergreen plastic card which is very easy to work with, the cockpit and observers openings still need the padding added.

Spectacular as always Des. I'll freely admit to being envious of your skill and precision. I look forward to seeing the next installment.

Cheers,
