Wow! Edo it`s a very interesting diorama! I really like the way you represented shattered wings . Looks like a lot of work to build this one!
Best regards
Filip

Just awesome! That's one of the best dioramas I've ever seen. Actually a great idea!

Hello,
Just for fun I searched "WWI plane crash tree" via google picture search engine and obviously such an end was not as rare as one might think...
Did you take in-progress-pics how you made the destroyed planes? I'd actually love to learn how you did that. I have startet the MPM Ford-t too for a larger diorama project and I totally agree: It's a great kit that turns into a nice car. And I love how you finished it!
Do you know Wiseman Models? They produce several other Ford-t versions (touring car, torpedo, ...) in 1/48 as white metall kits.
(found their stuff on ebay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/150695858858?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) I have one, it's not as nice as MPM but looks quite promising. I'll do a British or French staff car when I find an idea for a diorama which is just a little bit as good as your idea here.

hi Enrie and Borsos!
Thank you very much!

Unfortunately I don't have in progress pictures, as this was ment to be a quick build... but I have some pics of a previous build (a Fokker DVII) that could be useful  :)
Anyway it is not as hard as one could imagine, just give it a try!  ;)

I generally cut a 2 or 3 rib portion off the wing; from the cut off portin I then cut 1 or 2 spare ribs that can be useful later in the rebuilding of the damaged section. These spare ribs are joined to the remaining wing

Then I cover the damaged part in aluminium foil (stealing it from SWMBO actually  ;)) that is painted, decalled and wethered as usual and then is ripped through with a sharp point (needle or such)

Be careful to paint also the inside of the foil!!!

Hope this helps!
ciao
Edo

Sorry for the late post on this one Edo - just discovered this!

I'm so impressed by the idea and amount of work you have done to convey this story in diorama form. Truly spectacular in all regards!!!!

Cheers,
Gary
