Great start!  I really like the instrument panel.  I have started this kit as well.  Hope my panel looks half as good as yours

Thanks "tc".  I was amazed by how effective the panel decals performed. They fit like little gloves, even the lower panel ones with "cutouts" included, by far the best effort in this regard I've seen from WNW to date. Kudos to the design team at Wingnut Wings, truly a quality product!
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks for the heads up, it's on my wishlist! I have a few Wingnut Wings kits, (DH9, Fokker DVII and Rumpler CIV) but have yet to actually build one. Too much 1/72 stuff still left to finish, then I'll try the Fokker D.VII first, as that was a gift which kinds of "forces" me to start that one first.
Hopefully all those nice Fee builds here won't cause it to go out of stock just yet, to to make some room first!  :P :)

Thanks Bob, next update includes some of your "wares" used on the engine, just for something completely different! ;)

The engine is now complete with the exception of the Oil Tank and Exhaust manifold with muffler, or "Silencer" as the Kit Instructions term it. These two parts are added after permanent installation of the engine into the Nacelle.
I elected to add the oil lines that are not represented in the Kit and several other features as well including a full ignition harness. Here's the assembly sequence as it progressed:

Once the engine block and cylinder bank were assembled and painted the valve lifters with replacement metal push rods were installed. The main assemblies were airbrushed with Alclad II Copper and Dull Aluminum, the push rods are 0.12mm guitar wire.

Next the left side oil lines were installed using copper wire, 0.5mm brass tubes and CA for the joins. The tube portions are 1mm lengths from Bob's Buckles.

Next in the sequence the water intake pipe, ignition wire conduits, and ignition wires were installed. The wires are fine copper wire and PE Eyelet for plug connectors, this stage took a full day of work bench time and most of it wearing the trusty optivisor.

Once the oil filler pipes were added to the right side I completed the dirt and oil additions to the assembly using a very thin Winsor Newton oil colour wash.

The carb linkages were added to the Air Intake Manifold assembly using spares box PE bits and guitar wire. Before assembly two oil return lines were installed as well using again, copper wire. The cable linkages to the carbs will be added once the engine is permanently installed.

Finally here it is "posed` in position in the nacelle frame; what isn't in view here is an approximately 1.5 mm gap at the back end, the frame for some reason being slightly too wide so I have some careful adjusting to do unless it closes up a bit when the nacelle sides are added and "closed". I may have mis-labeled some of the various components, never been a keen engine Guy other then of the jet versions I used over the years. ???

Next comes the final assembly of the nacelle as mentioned, then I'll go straight to the lower wing and struts portion of the Build.
Cheers,
Lance

Beautiful work on the engine Lance, it is a very attractive engine and a model in its own right, well done.
