Excellent work with the rigging Dan, I have enough trouble doing it in 1:32 scale, how you guys do it in 1:72 scale is beyond me, well done.

Nicely done! I believe the Voisin III had cross bracing under each wing also. ie from the top of the front left strut, to the top of the rear right strut, etc....

Thanks, all...I think you are right, Ian.  I only noticed that after things were well under way, so I'm trying to figure out if I can add them as an after thought... :-[ :-[ ::) ::)

We'll see if I get the courage to do so.

Cheers,

Dan

Great work Dan!  Did you use HSP for the rigging or mono-filament of some kind?

Beautiful, Dan!  Although not in my scale, you've got me giving this kit some serious consideration.
Cheers,
Bud

I Warren...just some fine EZ-line.  Works great as long as you don't need functional rigging.  Thanks for looking and commenting!

Bud...it would be incredible in your adept hands.  You should give it a shot.  Find it "used" as it's pretty expensive new.  A "10" on the neat-ohh scale!

All,

In prep for making new booms, I put the photoetch into the copier so I'd have patterns to cut and solder on.  Just for giggles, I then cut out the "unusable" (my assumption) photoetch and folded it.  It went ok and then...I put it on the wings/tub.  Imagine my surprise!  It's straight, clean, looks nice, isn't bent...I can't believe it!  If it wasn't for the flatness of the booms and the rigging wires looking too flat/thick as well, this would actually work!  It's not too flimsy...I am so surprised.  My wife, wisely, advised me to save the whole thing in case my new booms bomb!

I will never bad-mouth something that is new to me or that I don't fully understand again.  In a pinch, this would work just fine.  I think this speaks volumes for a well-engineered kit.  Those of you like Przemol who are photoetch geniuses, now I see why...

Oh, how the high and mighty have fallen... ;D

Cheers,

Dan
