Thanks Martin and Antonio!

I do agree with you that I'm too yellow...I'm hoping that when I do some fading and weathering, it's knocked back a bit.  We'll see what happens.

Thanks so much for that recap.  Super helpful and I sincerely appreciate your help since I know almost nothing about Voisin 3s and even less about those in Italian service.

Cheers!

Dan

All,

I got this guy detail painted a bit.  It still needs the radiators (which I haven't quite figured out how to add!)and all the rigging along with some weathering.

Only huge mistake was the right hand fuselage side decal is in the wrong place...I put levers on the side near the cockpit and that's just where the Squadriglia is supposed to go.  I tried to remove the controls, but they were bending, so I just repositioned the decals.   :-[ Oh, well.  The decals still look cool, especially against the light color. Now I need to find some bright green paint so I can paint the bottom tips of the wings etc.  This will look really nice when all rigged!

This color is still a bit yellow, but I notice that the picture really looks more yellow than the real thing.  I do think it will look better with some tweaking.

Thanks for looking!  ;)

Dan

Beautiful work Dan. What's going on with the engine?  Is is supposed to be that brassy color?

excellent, are you sure that this is 1:72? I looks like 1:48 or bigger :)

I can't believe I missed so much of this thread.  You're doing a magnificent job on one of my favorites.  I just wish there was a Voisin 3 in 1/48 scale.
Cheers,
Bud

Beautiful work Dan, the paint colour looks right to my eyes and the decals are excellent, this is shaping up to be a real stunner.

Thanks, Everyone!  It's fun to build so far.

Warren:  From what I've seen, the answer is yes on the cylinders.  I'm not sure if they were all this way, but I think this is correct.

Really looks odd to me, though!

Cheers,

Dan

My scratch built Voisin had a Salmson water cooled radial engine (not a rotary) hence the copper cooling jacket around each cylinder, so your colours are correct.

Modelling at its highest level. What a gem of the trolley. Looks great even without the wings!
