PKZ-2 Helicopter//Eduard//1:48
« on: September 03, 2015, 09:55:59 PM »
Hello,

Not quite sure if it should be under "what if.." section, but if the place should be changed pls do not hesitate:)
Now let me represent the Wilhelm Zurovec patent for replacing hydrogen-filled observation balloons.
I have used old Eduard PKZ-2 helicopter no. 8015, but the engines in the mold were so obsolete that I had to find replacement. Thus 3 pcs of new smallstuffmodels Gnome 100hp resin engines constitute a kind of refreshment for this old kit. Those new engines are just gorgeous even though was hard to assemble them:)
Here you have small comparison:

next job must be done to the shock absorbers, just to resemble those from real photos
regards
K

You have this build in the correct board Krzysiek and it is a build I will be following closely. You made an excellent choice with the Small Stuff engines, they are incredible, looking forward to seeing more of this build.

Krzysiek, your engines are beautiful. I'll be watching your build here as this is one my favourite beasties.

Thanks for support!!
Now the main absorber. I had to puff up it little bit so put some polyester plates between.
It needs some enhancement but the main shape is given

Being in the mood I tried to enhance the fuel tanks. Here you have the initial results, not quite in line with photos, but...

PS. I think these are the oil tanks as well, aren't they?

Krzysiek, your work is spectacular! Yes, you are correct, they are(were) combination fuel/oil tanks. Keep up the good work.
