I have a "problem" with the engine mount struts....
Are they seams lines (pointed with red arrows)? On a WnW it seems so strange  ::)

I took them for seam lines and sanded them down. There were no such lines on the leading and trailing edges of those struts, where they usually are on strut elements. I suppose WNW chose such an unusual approach due to those extrusions mid way the strut, where the inner bays landing wires pass through.

Hi!

I've glued together the fuselage.
No problems here, just take your time to check that everything is in the right place.
The dent in the back of the fuselage is my mistake, not WnW  :P

I've finished the struts with oils.
After the oil has dried I've sprayed some tamiya clear orange to protect the finish.
Here's an example.
The black parts are not finished, this only a base coat. They will need some drybrushing

I've also painted the radiators. Tamiya base paint and some black oil wash.
I still have to add some small pulleys that moved the louvres in front of the radiators.
I have to search something in my old PE or spares parts...

That's all.
Next I think that I'll add the covers of the fuselage, so that I can start paint it.

Cheers,

Andrea

You have done a superb job with the wood colour on the strut, it looks very realistic, nice to see the fuselage closed up and the work on the radiators is brilliant, this is turning into a real show stopper.

Thanks for the nice comments!  :D

A small update:

Iv'e added some details to the lateral mg mounts. In the real plane pictures you can see two wires with turnbuckles.
I've added them using 1/48 gaspatch turnbuckles

Wonderful attention to and replication of detail, Andrew. The wood effect is beautifully done as well. A real show stopper in the making!

Lance

Hi!

Some progress.

I've painted the interior of the cockpit covers.
I've left the ejection marks, they will be invisible at the end... It' s ok for me  ::)

The I've installed them on the fuselage.
The fit is quite good, just take your time. Some putty on the rear and on the nose to blend the surfaces

Some masking and the model is ready for some primer to check the finish

On the rudder I think that I'll remove the tab on the bottom. It's not present on the real aircraft , it's there only for strenght. It' squite visible so I think that is worth to remove it.

That's all

Andrea
