Once we see the decals being applied we can sense the end is near, looking forward to seeing all the components assembled.

Thanks, Rick and Des!
I am going to add some paint around the crosses to simulate field applied adjustments.  Next is to do the black and white stripes on the one machine and move to the serial numbers.  I have 593/17 and 586/17 on an old Americal sheet but it may not be usable so I may need to cut up the Eduard and other sheets I have for the numbers.

It's been a while since I checked on this Post, Drew, very impressive progress! Lovely work so far and the three of them together are going to be a very impressive line up. Great "streaking", details, and the engines are terrific, looks more like a larger scale.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks, Lance!

So for the serial numbers, I've been using the Eduard set and cutting the numbers apart.  for 593/17, I turned the 6 upside down since the kit decals didn't have a 9.  I attempted to simulate the chalked in LO! on the sides.  The thumbnail comes from an Americal set.  I drew the larger LOs with a white gel pen, let it set for a few minutes and then wiped most of it off with a wet paper towel.  Still needs a bit of dirtying up and a satin overcoat.

Thanks, Gregory, Rick, and Martin!
I also painted the white on the one machine and am waiting for some 4mm masking tape to get started on the striping.

Very nice progress!

You have to wonder if the chalked LO! was then painted in with the white on the real aircraft? Or maybe they did not have a chance as Udet moved on to a different a/c?

Thanks, Petrov.

It's a good question.  There's a 3/4 view of the machine and you can just make out the chalked outline, but it's clearly not fully painted at that point.  I kind of like the chalked outline; it's a little different.

Here's the white painted on 586/17.  This hand-me-down machine was pretty war-weary and the white didn't seem to cover all that well.  I tried to make it a bit translucent.

Thanks, Martin!

Not a lot of progress lately.  Next step is painting the black stripes and adding tail chevrons.

Drew,
These three are going to be an impressive collection of Udet Tripes when completed! I am looking forward to seeing the stripes appear on the third one!
