My many thanks to First Tee, Martin, Rick, George and Bud for your very kind words.

Even with all of its misgivings this kit is starting to shape up as a very nice looking model, the Macchi has always been one of my favorite WW1 aircraft and the more I work on this model the more I can see why, it is a gorgeous shape, so perfectly proportioned, just a beautiful looking aeroplane.

Thanks Bob for looking in and leaving very kind comments.

I have decided to add the suspended wing floats and thanks to Rowan I was able to use his 1:32 scale drawings of the floats as a template, they printed out in exact 1:32 scale. I made the floats from styrene sheet then made the brackets from 0.5mm copper wire, the floats will be painted the same wood colour as the hull and the brackets will be black. The tail and wings have been painted with Hobby Color H313 Yellow then coated with a low sheen clear. I also added the two stays under the tail plane, these are made from 1.0mm brass tube. The rudder colours have been painted using a combination of Gunze and Humbrol paints.

Thanks Rick for your kind words, they are much appreciated.

I have now set the 3ยบ dihedral on the bottom wings, I will glue the wings on tomorrow to retain the dihedral.

That's got to be one of the most beautiful planes EVER.  I love your painting skills and that engine is amazing.

Des, those are some sweet castings, but of course, in your skilled hands this will be a masterwork!  Please, Des, stay healthy...

You compliments are always greatly appreciated Pietro.

It is now a waiting game, I oil painted the floats, the wing struts and the propeller, all parts are in my heat box drying, it is cold weather here today so I will leave the heat box running for two days. I also painted the top wing and applied the decals and I am in the process of putting together the beaching trolley and the two stands.
