Fokker E.V 1/32 Avis
« on: May 30, 2015, 08:41:27 PM »
Hello my friends!!!

So, as I finished Oeffag I still have few days until my summer season and since weather is rubbish I decided to start bits and pieces on this "new" kit...

I have 20 WNW in my stash but for some reason I find this plane irresistable... bare with me, this is going to be "marathon" build as I will be finishing it in Australia (assuming I will get the visa and settle there for while)...

Well, I started with wings - Im trying to achieve kind of "wrinkled" look that can be seen on replicas

and I also decided to replace inside construction - original one in kit is a joke and there is a plenty of inspiration in Desīs scratch builds :) Im not sure if I will leave it open or not but I definitely need a practice!!! :)

Apart from using plastic profiles I will eventually buy engine from CMKkits, lozenge from Aviattic and use Drooling Bulldog paints and possibly much more :D

Cheerio
Lukas

Outstanding start! Your frame work looks awesome! I also think the wrinkled wood effect looks great!!

Great to see you making a start on this one Lukas, the fuselage frame looks excellent, looking forward to following along.

Thanks guys!!!!

Richard, I used scalpel and dremmel and a LOT of sanding paper (rubbed over eraser) :)

Here is a picture how it looks before sanding... (well, part of it is sanded but I think its pretty obvious what is already sanded ;) )

tedious work but I sort of like the results, It will also receive HGW rivets in smaller scale so It hopefully will have nice subtle look :)

Cheers
Lukas

That's a great effect on the wing, Lukas! A lot of work, but worth it.

Love what you're doing with the wing, Lukas.  I completely understand the draw of a less than perfect kit.  I, too, have several WNW kits in my stash that I pass over to work on cottage industry kits.  I like the challenge, I reckon.
Cheers,
Bud

I love the effect you have created on the wing, this will look brilliant once painted or decals applied.

Great start on the Razor. The oil canning effect is a nice touch. Any scheme planned yet?

Hello!!!

Des, Im certainly hoping for that!!! ;)

Steve, Im not decided just yet but there are two hot candidates - Jagtstaffel 6 (154/18) Ronny Bar created a great profile of that aircraft vs. 2 marine Feld Jagstaffel (137/18) Karl Scharon...

Plenty of time to decide, main criteria was streaking camouflage on the wing and lozenge on fuselage :)
