Thanks all! :)

I think I mentioned when I posted a photo of the propeller before, that I really wasn't happy with the shape of it. I'd glued the layers without enough of a twist, so it was really doomed from the start.

So with that one as a useful practice run, I've had a second go at it, and I'm much happier with the results now. It has a more accurate curve to the leading edge, and I've been more careful to get a good finish (although it still could be better in places).

I've also been doing my best to get the engine to fit into the cowl. Not easy, because everything has to be perfectly aligned to allow the cowl to still fit over the firewall plate. But it's just about there now- I'll take some photos of that once it's been painted.

That is a beautiful looking propeller Rizzo, the profile looks prefect to my eyes and the laminations are excellent, truely a remarkable job.

Rizzo,
As one who has built his own props on occasion I must say yours is spectacular, nice job and as Adam remarked hard to tell apart from the real item. Beautiful work!

Thanks for the comments, you guys have really kept my motivation for this project going, and I appreciate it :)

I finished the engine over the last few evenings. It's without many modifications over the kit parts, and the detail is a bit chunky. So I've tried to paint it in a way that doesn't highlight things like the bulky cooling fins too much. Hopefully it will look ok tucked away under the cowl.

I'm really glad I replaced most of the other metal parts the kit supplies though- it's really heavy with the engine added. Additional parts like the big metal fuel tanks would put quite a strain on the undercarriage.
