hello friends!

Terry and rag, I used AK interactive's aircraft engine oil, dilueted with white spirit passed with the airbrush.

I did the same effect in the Morane Saulnier Parasol:

well about the frame:

I did the control stick.
this part is very important because it is one of the three Donald kept from the 1264. It's now serving again in the David's replica.

the RNSA control stick were in brass while the RFC control stick were in aluminium.

here it is:

all the command are linked to the control surfaces. It is thez first time I did that and it's quite funny:

the gear strut renforcement:

Then I did the engine.
Small stuff models do marvelous WWI engine at 1/48.

the 1264 has two different engine. first a Gnome 7cylinder Lambda 80hp and later a Le Rhone 9 cylinder 80hp.

I wanted to represent the gnome as I did in the model.

small stuff model don't do the lambda , but I they did for me a mixing with the omega carter (7cylinder) and delta cylinders wich were biggers than the omega's ones...

look at the beauty of details:

and here is the result:

I'm working on the fuel tank too:

and here is the engine in its place:

I recommend you small stuff models engine without any doubt!

Beautiful Build Xan, your detail is marvellous! You are taking a very "plain" Kit into the super detailed category, it's a real beauty!
Cheers,

Xan, you have done some spectacular models, my friend, but these two look like they may be your best yet.  Truly brilliant work.
Just got my order of Small Stuff engines.  Can't wait to use them.
Cheers,
Bud

Great work on Small Stuff stuff. I have built a 1/72 version of their fantastic model engines, so I think I can truly congratulate you on what you achieved. These bits are not easy to put together but when done so, they result in a fantastic pieces, like yours!
