A Little update: the new rudder is ready.
Some changes to the fuselage: the air intake open, cool intake cut away, new structure inside beginning.

I see you are not going to use the amazing handy dandy million and one fold PE interior. Good plan; I remember fighting that thing tooth and nail before finally getting it into the fuelage. I had been out of modelling for about fifteen years when I saw this kit in a store. I've always like the SSW D.III/IV because it looks like a beer keg with wings, so I bought it. Probably not the best kit to discover the joys of PE on. But I managed to get it built.

Both body insides so far possibly finished and primed. New parts made and the first engine ventilation below open.
Etch parts become so far it goes substituted!

Hm. I don't like the way you have opened up the first ventilation cover - it looks a bit brutal to me.

Ok Stefan you are right, but I think there is no other way to open the Ventilation. At last it will be sanded.

The next parts finished, like flaps, tank and mg-belt box.
Also paints the first parts with plywood colour. I do not like the structure.

Hi Martin  ,

Opening up the gills on the chin pan is not an easy task . I did my by thinning down the inside so the area was only 1mm in thickness . Calipers are for handy for this for measuring the thickness as you go . Digital ones are even better .

I opened them up using a scribing tool and finishing with a #11 . At this stage the plastic is very thing and easy damaged .
