Hi all,
its been a while, sorry for that! Well here she is, my first WW1 build. Lovely kit. I must make a start on the other WNW in the stash! Some of you may have seen her in the latest issue of SAM?

I like that Little Fokker of yours, especially the squiggles on the metal parts? Did you do them as WNW proposes?

It was a good pick for the first WW1 kit! With a fine final result, we must admit! Congratulations. And now go for something with more wings and more cables.

Very nicely done! The weathering on the fuselage is very convincing.

Your first WW1 model aircraft build, hard to believe it is your first, the result is spectacular, well done and I look forward to seeing many more WW1 aircraft models coming from your bench.

Great Eindecker, Chris! The weathering on the fuselage is really
well done. Could you give a quick explanation of how you did it?
Beautiful job on your hopefully first of many of that era.
Cheers,
Ernie

Hi All,
Thanks for the comments. The finish on the cowlings were as per WNW's recommendations, but with some alteration on the colours. Alclad as a base then with handprinted squiggles using Mr Color. The weathering was using trusty oil paints. Undiluted spots added to the areas to be stained, then worked into the paint with a brush slightly dampened with white spirits. Work until you get the
desired effects. In my opinion, oils are a hugely underrated weathering medium, yet they are so versatile. So much cheaper than the aftermarket weathering based products as well!
