A superb piece of work Terri, congratulations! Years ago, my attempt at the same model never made it past the rubbish bin after much frustration!

Best wishes
Nigel

Congratulations on another excellent model, not least for the perseverance in keeping going despite the setbacks. It is difficult to recognise that this is such an old kit - you have made it look much better than it really is.

Lovely work on your SSW DIII, Terri - really pleased to see you got it together.   :)

Are you going to be tempted by Eduard's new tooling of this one in the future?

Dave

Hi Terri,
I don't know if you read Vladimir Sulc in the latest Eduard newsletter, on their (old) SSW:

"At that Chicago show, a distinguished
looking gentleman
visited our booth and asked if
we were responsible for that
Siemens kit. I replied ‘Yes, sir,
that kit was produced by my
company.’ He answered that
‘In that case, you should be
thoroughly embarrassed by
your efforts. I have never held
anything so bad in my hands before. The thing
can’t be built! If you want your work to support
you, then do your work properly!. Then he
left. And he left me speechless. It’s how it is, in
those situations. At first, I felt insulted, and then
I tried to analyze his words. I kept going over
it in my mind and slowly began to reach the
opinion that he was right. For all the accolades
and pats on the back, the kit really was an
unbuildable embarrassment, and it was time
for a change."

says it all. Very well done turning that "unbuildable embarassment" into such a fine model.

Cheers,
Tony.

Excellent build Terri, the long work on this one is finally over,  and you showed that if you want to do something properly, then you never rush it!

A great effort Terri,
I have one SSW started 15 years ago, but I didn't progress beyond the fuselage (probably I will complete that kit as a D IV.
I definitely know what a dog is that kit...
Yours Is great!

Very nice one, Terri. It is great to see it brought to the finale! I like SSW D.III/IV and this red-fuselage one is especially spectacular. Your model brings it to the full glory!

I must say that you guy's are best ! Your comments and support are appreciated . Couldn't ask for a better bunch of folks  ;D

Bud , I just hope that folks don't use my build as being a ref source . It is far forming being accurate . I know the info is out there but no one would share the info I needed for the rear bulkhead , firewall with turtle duct and the landing gear . I'm sure folks who build the new kit will turn out far better than what this project did .

Dave , yup . I already have the kit on order at the hobby shop and have replacement lozenge in the stash .

Tony , no I haven't read the their Nov newsletter yet . Tired to down load it but was having troubles on my end . I would like to send them a few pic's saying that yes it can be built ! Nothing too be embarrassed over .

Scott , I always look at this way . There is no such thing as an unbuildable kit . What makes it unbuildable is ones skill set .
