That is a great step by step tutorial on using the acrylics to create your leather seat! The seat is of course, as all the others said, FANTASTIC! I also love the worn wood floor!!

Thank you very much for your helpful instructions on painting leather.

One proposal, if I may: You might want to choose a different background for your photos - the sparkling surface of your last photo distrcts a lot from what you want to show.

Regards,
Stefan

@Stefan: You are absolutely right.. photography never was my strongest point :-)  I have a better camera, but I have to set up a little space in my hobby room where I can take proper pictures against a proper background.
It's high on my To Do list :-)

Cheers

That seat is gorgeous, Flip.  (that's a phrase I usually reserve for my wife)  Thanks for the tutorial.
Cheers,
Bud

Hi All,

Small update. I’ve added the tank behind the seat ( I didn’t bother with the seams on the sides of the tank, since they can’t be seen anyway), the  kit’s seatbelts, steering wheel  and the rudder bar.

Everything was painted with acrylics and oil paints. I hope to finish the cockpit by the end of next week. More pictures to follow soon 

That looks fantastic!  I love the fuel stains.  And the leather.  And the woodwork, and the tanks, and the....

Love it.

Hello Flip:

Outstanding work so far.  I like the effect  you achieve with the wood grain decals.  Your seat is outstanding.  It certainly has that worn weathered leather look to it.  Thanks again too for sharing your techniques and the use of browns, blues and grey instead of white and black.  Will be using that next time.

Best

Mark

As the others have said on the modelling itself, plus a big improvement on your photo for using a different background. Thank you very much!

Flip, your cockpit area is looking absolutely sublime.  I didn't think
it was possible, but as Rick said the seat looks even better in place.  You
are really outdoing yourself, my friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)
