My First Biplane. WNW FE.2b.
« on: September 28, 2014, 11:53:31 AM »
Hello all,

I've been visiting this forum for quite a while now. With nothing really to contribute. Well now I have something.

This is my rendition of WNW's superb FE.2b. I built this as my first completed biplane model. An amazing kit, to which I added very little. The little I did add where: a motor to the propeller, I modified the undercarriage to show an unloaded in flight condition, and two crew members from the Wings Cockpit range. And I couldn't have done it without Bob and his lovely buckles. Cheers Bob.

Thank You.

Adrian

For your first biplane you certainly jumped in the deep end. You have produced a superb model with an excellent overall finish and brilliant rigging. The CDL transarency looks very real and the addition of the crew adds that finishing touch, congratulations on presenting us with a true show piece.

Adrian,
This is your first Biplane?!? I can't wait to see the subsequent efforts, this is an incredibly beautiful piece of work! The display set up is very nice, and then there's the figures.........!  Compliments on some very talented work on this one, what a beauty!

Wahoo Adrian! I think that is excellent, especially the crew figure painting, see-though roundels and the rib & spar effects. Very nicely mounted too.
Thanks for sharing

Way to go Adrian!  I saw your brilliant "in flight" Fee at the IPMS National in Hampton, VA, last month.  It looked spectacular in person, but your photos are excellent too. ;) I really like the crew and the in flight display.  Outstanding modeling!

Cheers & huzzas,

Bob

I have an FE.2b in my stash and if it came out anything like as good as this I'd be very proud. Thank you for sharing this superb piece of work with us Adrian.

Best wishes
Nigel

Welcome to the forum, Adrian. :D  How you have picked such an advanced model for starters
and ended up with such an absolute gem is beyond me, and as a bonus, your display is lovely.
What talents you have!  It is obvious you will have much to contribute here.  Welcome aboard!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

For a first foray into rigged aircraft, this is quite simply, superb. Those translucent roundels just blew me away. Please tell me that it's not your first model aircraft. If it is, I'm digging out that rug hooking kit . . .

Cheers,

Chris

Your first biplane model?? ...shakes head in utter wonderment...
Out of curiosity, what sort of genre have you been modelling in up till now?
Many congratulations!

Superb! As others have said, wow the FE is a tough one for your firts biplane - kudos for pulling it off so successfully!
