Thank you, LM!

Just some small progress to report.  Painted underside of lower wing and applied decals.   In between painting, hollowed out the end of the exhaust by drilling, trimming with model knife and tidying by using oval file.

This was then painted up and attached to engine when completed.

Had a go at knocking up the grab handles at the end of the fuselage.   Accomplished by twisting 5 amp fuse wire to create a cord/rope effect.  Attached to fuselage by making an eyelet from same wire - drilled into fuselage (where they needed to go) and super glued these eyelets in place.  I then threaded through my twisted wire, twisted ends and glued in place on the eyelet.    Handles painted leather brown.

Hopefully these don't look to bad?

Will paint the upper surface of the lower wing tomorrow evening all being well.

Regards

Dave

Very fine work indeed. Those look like real grab handles and the exhaust also looks ver good.

Martin/LM - Thank you both

Top side of lower wing was first painted in the purple and green camoflage marking.   Once dry, over painted in the dark blue in attempt to achieve the base colours showing through the top coat.  This has worked but is not visible as I would have liked.  This nows completes the fuselage and lower wing.

Next stage will be to work on the top wing and struts.

Regards

Dave

Ecellent work so far Dave, the exhaust hollowing and the rope grab handles are excellent details.

Absolutely impressed with those handles, Dave. A trick I'll steal with no shame for my next Albie Build!
Nice work all round so far.
Cheers,
Lance

Outstanding work on the translucent effect of the blue paint.  Looks just right to me.  I agree with the others about the added details.  Very nice.
Cheers,
Bud

What did you use for the mauve/purple colour?

Des, Lance, Terri, Bud, Rick and Stefan -

Many thanks all!

Lance - No problem, mate use away with my pleasure.

Rick - To be honest, on this occasion, I have not achieved such a smooth paint finish on the fuselage this time round as I would have liked.

Stefen - the purple is Humbrol acrylic matt 5042 as Revell don't have a purple colour in their paint range.

More in due course

Regards

Dave

Quick update -

Top wing installed and have made a start on the main wing rigging.   Rigging was accomplished by using 'Bobs Buckles' turnbuckles - my first attempt at using these.   I've made a few mistakes fitting them (sorry Bob!) but I really got to grips with them after a while.  In fact, using these  made rigging a lot easier and quicker.  I really like them! - hopefully, by my next build, I will make a neater job with them.

Next stage will be to paint the rigging lines before moving on to the undercarriage.

Regards

Dave

Dave,

You're doing a great job on this, the rigging and finish are very impressive. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished model.
