Gorgeous prop, Dave!  Your technique is solid and the results show it.  Looks like a real laminated prop.
Cheers,
Bud

That prop looks as though it really is made from laminated wood. The finish is among the best that I have seen. Congratulations

Hello Dave:

Just now catching up a bit on the forum:  You really did an outstanding job on this model.  I have to keep telling myself it is brushpainted!  The prop is really the cats pajama's; just an outstanding job of painting to achieve the desired wood affect.
It does take a bit to get used to using Herr Bucklemeisters Accoutrements; but once used, never go back!
Outstanding all around.

Best

Mark

working on model at my 'workbench' (dining room table)

That must explain why it looks good enough to eat.

Really gorgeous build. Thanks for the prop tutorial!

Cheers from NYC,
