Hello Crazy Vacform Lovers,

I got the engine painted, the Austrian fields painted and the decals on.  They were touch and go as a test decal broke into a million, billion pieces.  I then sprayed the ones I wanted to use with Future and cut them out very closely.  They were super thin but went on ok.  Even the nose/hull cross even though it will need a bit of touch up.  I also needed to spray the white field for the nose cross too.  I only lack a good Austrian crown decal for the rudder.  I'll be on the lookout for that...

I'll do some rib tape shading tomorrow and hopefully attach the upper wing!

Thanks for looking....Dan

You certainly are powering ahead with this one Dan, the decals look great as does the Austrian colour fields, she is a very smart looking bird indeed, looking forward to seeing the top wing mounted.

Ah, the 'million, billion piece' broken decal, Dan! I've been there too, but you've got things sorted out beautifully and things are shaping up into a fine model.

Best wishes
Nigel

Sorry to hear of your decal issues. It seems you got past the problem with no difficulty. Looks beautiful!

Thanks, Guys...

The decals were just really delicate once they had future on them.  A couple ripped but at least didn't explode!  ;)

Lovely little machine that I just can't ruin at this point!

Thanks and cheers,

Dan

This is really nice, Dan, you are really doing some fine work on Her. I've never built a Vac Kit but the more I see of results like yours the more I'm drawn to doing one. I'm really enjoying following your progress.
Cheers,
Lance

Beautiful modeling Dan!  She really looks sharp.  The A-H colors and markings really make this an interesting model, and your superb craftsmanship is turning her into a real beauty. ;D. Very well done!

Cheers,

Bob

Hello Everyone,

With the help of my son, I think I improved a bit on the paper 3-view jig a bit using Legos.  And the wing is on, straight and true.  It's really strong too with all those triangular arrangements.  What a cool plane... 8) 8)

Rigging should be easy with some EZ-Line.  It's REALLY close now!  I'll paint up the struts and start rigging soon.

I also did some rib tape highlighting by taping off and spraying with some Tamyia "Smoke".  At least it breaks up the grey expanse of the wings and stab.  ::)

Thanks for looking,

Dan

It looks fantastic with the top wing mounted Dan, this is a really neat looking aeroplane, looking forward to seeing the rigging fitted.

Beautiful!
I have a set of the Pegasus A-H decals, the smallest sizes for the rudder emblems are 7mm and 8mm top to bottom, not including the little spike on top of the crown. Let me know if they will be ok, I'll send you a pair.....

A wonderfull bird. No one would think that this is a vacu.
A model thrives on its overall impression and not on that every little disagreement over the original is hyped up as a disaster
