I like the trick on the losenge in the cockpit! It would make sense that it would not be as vivid on both sides of the cloth. I'll have to remember that for future reference also.

Thanks for that. Lozenge technically should also be reversed, but it seems doubtful anyone would ever know that it's not. I think I'll try Buff again, but with more white next time.

New bulkhead made (since kit doesn't provide one), from plastic sheet & .030 half round rod.

Very nice, FB.  I agree with Modelnut- that's a great tip for the interior lozenge.

Oops, I lied; kit does come with a rear bulkhead. I really should have my head looked at.

Pit floor finished, (as far as it's going to get anyway). I broke the two handles on port side of control stick, so I substituted .025 rod for them.

I'd hear that front engine panels on these kits can be a real bear, so I've added side panels to fuselage at this point, reinforced with strip plastic CA'd in place.

Thanks. With any luck at all, I'll start getting fuselage together tomorrow. I promised myself that this will be done by the end of July, as I have another project that I have to finish in August.

OK, it should not be taking me so long to get through this project, but work has been tedious and slow. This will definitely be my last 1:48 WWI bird. Interior parts have now been given a wash, and looks much better, (to me at least).

Typical of what I’ve been doing the last couple of years (when practicable), I’ve made a plaque to display with the finished model.

Kevin,
Love the work so far! I also really like the idea of the placque with the photo, really cool.

Thanks a bunch. It's not always possible, but I do the plaques whenever it is. They look good on the contest tables that way.

Kit had no throttle assembly (I checked), so I faked one up.

And painted.

Finally! Fuselage is zipped up, and awaiting engine installation.

After a little creative surgery, lower engine panel fits like a glove.
