She's scrumptiuos, Pete.  The wing shading and the patching are especially nice.

Man, I like that woodwork effect, especially the one panel that contrasts with the others. Your rib shading looks excellent too.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Pete,

Wings are very cool, preshading etc., but fuselage...wanted a more elaborate plywood. Or was it detailed photo? The wood is badly photographed. Really like what I wrote shading. Great one.

Cheers,

Vladimir

Thanks for the comments Vladimir, it's possibly the photos that don't show the plywood too well.

Cheers

Sorry for the lack of updates, now the 'Old Work Horse' has caught up with me and things have gone well with it, so here is the current state of progress, sorry for the quantity.

The last 2, I've put together a base for the Albie to see how it looks.

Cheers

Pete.

Pete,

Good to see you making progress again - looks superb so far.   The wood grain and weathered cowling look very realistic.   This looks as though this is going to be your best one thus far, mate.

Where did you get the truck model from?

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave,

The truck is an old 1/32 Pyro Renault Town Car kit which I converted to a Renault truck a la WWI.

That's looking good Pete. I especially like the chipping. It is a very hard thing to do properly and i've seen a lot of models where it looks like a brush loaded with silver paint has been plonked on the paint job but that looks random and realistic.

What was your technique.

Many thanks Sean and Gary.

Gary, I used the 'Marmite Technique', first spray the part your chosen metal colour ie steel or aluminium, let it dry, dab on some Marmite with a stiff brush or small piece of sponge, spray your part the colour it's gonna be, in my case for the Albie, Vallejo Duck Egg Green, let it dry, wash the part in warm soapy water with a soft brush, voila, the Marmite comes off leaving a chipped finish with the metal showing through the paint.

Cheers

Pete.

Hi Pete,

Very nice so far, the different finishes you have achieved are very effective indeed.
The base is also very nice, what have you used for the grass?

Best Regards

Keith

Really an outstanding job all around Pete, marvelous. A joy to view. My comments are a repeat of the other statements but again the wood graining, that lovely engine and the chipping are jewels. I believe I see some oil streaking on the cowl too. A pleasure to be able to follow along.  :) :) :)
