While we're sharing our old builds...
« on: May 28, 2012, 08:27:19 AM »
Seeing as I am one of the "new kids" on the site here, thought I would post a smattering of my old builds.  No reason really, just seems that a few others are doing the same so why not join in  :)

My first WW1 model - Hi-Tech Roland D.II, which was later resurrected after a series of breakages.
Before:

After:

My second - Eduard Sopwith Camel (also before I could take half decent photos...!)

Ok, so I'm not going to list every model I have built in order of build ...  :P So I will just throw in a smattering...

And I have occasionally made some non-WW1 stuff..  ;D

These aren't even all of them... no wonder I need a new display cabinet....!

Thanks for looking!

  Brad,
Awesome flight line my old friend. Wasn't the Roland D.II part of a build thread over at the old Drome some time in the dim past? Always like the Roland D.II for some reason unknown even to me . I built up the Sierra Scale version sometime ago and I've got to say mine doesn't hold a candle to yours.  Glad to see these all again and thank you for sharing them .
Highest Regards,
Gregory Jouette

I've watched a number of these come together on the 'drome ,Brad, and was, and still am, totally blown away by your skills.  I know that I recently said that the DH9 might be your best yet, but I had almost forgtten how impressive that Albatros C.X is.  Might be a tie.  Could you do us all a favor and post links to some of the build threads?  I learned quit a bit from many of those threads, especially the Snipe, and I'm sure many of the newer WWI modelers on this site would appreciate the tutorials.
Once again, truly brilliant stuff.
Cheers,
Bud

What catches my eye immediately is the subtle, subdued look about all of them. They're all beauties!

Cheers,

Chris

Brad,
I've seen a few of these elsewhere over the past several years; they are truly magnificent builds. What scale/manufacturer is the Snipe? I seem to recall 1:72 in which case I suspect you may indeed be possessed! (and YES! some tutorial submissions would be very well received)
Thanks so much for posting these beauties.
Cheers,
Lance

Thanks for the nice words folks!  As requested, some of the build logs.

For the Albatros CX (build log was over on the old 'Drome site):
http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/models/45915-wip-jager-1-48-albatros-c-x.html

The Snipe (which is 1:48 scale - no way could I rig it in 1:72!)
http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/models/38189-1-48-blue-max-sopwith-7-f-1-snipe.html

I have build logs for all of these stashed away somewhere so let me know if there are any others you want me to dig up.

Thanks again!
