Hansa-Brandenburg D.I scratch 1:144
« on: July 23, 2014, 03:50:41 PM »
Along with the Nie XI I am working on the Hansa-Brandenburg D.I, it will be the 28.40 machine flown by Frank Linke-Crawford and Benno Fiala from FliK 41J (with black-white checkerboard on both sides of the fuselage).

Again, here some photos. At this moment there is more progress on the build, hope to post new photos soon.

Under normal conditions a man is never happy to hear this from a woman.  :) But in this case I am really happy about this comment.

Many thanks to all of you for your encouraging comments, I will keep you updated on the progress and post new photos asap.

Thanks a lot for the comment, but please trust me I am very far from the degree of "master modeller". Every successful attempt is preceeded byl 3-5 failures.  ;) This is the fourth version of the fuselage and I am not satisfied with the checkers anyway. Looks like I have to swap home made decals for professional ones...

You are a very good modeller and a perfectionist to boot! What you achieve is mind blowing - that engine is simply a wonderful piece of modelling. Exceptional work without a doubt.

A little progress on the wings and the elevator. Next time I will use a plotter and a masking tape to airbrush the iron crosses. Home made decals are just too thick for this scale...  :(

I will remove the paint from the wings and go for another attempt.

You have done a superb job with the fuselage and wings Ondra, for such a miniature scale you are adding quite good details, well done, the wood grain on the fuselage is excellent.
